Alhambra Alhambra multi-lingual edition    (Temporarily Out of Stock)     List: $39.95 $31.99 (20% savings!)
In Granada, one of the most impressive building projects of the Middle Ages has begun: the construction of Alhambra. A palace, fortress, and a small city -- all-in-one -- Alhambra is made up of the world's most beautiful gardens, pavilions, chambers...

This expansion contains four different modules, which can be combined individually or all together with the basic game. The Favor of the Vizier allows players to take a turn out of order. The Exchange Office contains cards which allow buildings to be purchased using 2 different currencies. The Bonus Cards include secret tiles which can be revealed to count as an additional building of the type shown. The Building Huts has extra tiles which can be built as an additional action choice (in addition to buying and placing buildings, rearranging one's Alhambra, and taking money) and which count as 0-3 of a given building type, depending on adjacent tiles.

Get it for the builder's huts
Gordon Anderson
Dec 20, 2005
As stated in the description there are four modules. One of them I consider not super useful (the bonus cards), two of which are kind of interesting (the vizier and the exchange cards) but one of them really adds to the game and is a partial patch for one of its weaknesses.

Basically, the builder's huts allow you to multiply the value of the pieces you have purcahsed. More than that, however, they also allow you to expand your wall or get you out of a building jam. They therefore enrich the basic game and if you are a fan of Alhambra make it almost worth the purchase price. (I'd give this expansion 4 stars if it were just the builder's huts and priced accordingly.)
