Strategy Games are a step up from Family Games. They're still easy to learn but you'll find more opportunity to develop cunning plans and outwit your opponents. Strategy Games can last longer than Family Games but there are still plenty to choose from that only take 60-90 minutes. You can also look at past winners of the Deutscher Spiele Preis, awarded to the best Strategy Game of the year every October. While the Deutscher Spiele Preis is a German award there are North American versions of nearly all the winners and nominees, meaning no knowledge of German is required to play the games.
