Family Games Looking for a game that the entire family can play? Need to entertain children, teenagers, and adults at the same time? Look no further than some of our favorite family games. Uptown is a game about forming groups from a set of tiles and takes about 30 minutes to play. Each player has the same set of tiles as all the other players and tries to form the least number of groups. Each tile can be played on multiple places on the board and the player who makes the best decisions on where to put those tiles will win. Besides the simple rules, Uptown's strength lies in the decisions which must be made every turn. Every decision is interesting and when the game is over players are left feeling satisfied. Uptown will especially appeal to those players who enjoy games which let them outmaneuver their opponents.

A 30-60 minute game about building connections between cities the game has become so popular it spawned an expansion, and several other stand alone games. The perfect game for people just getting introduced to the world of board games, Ticket to Ride is fun and easy to learn. There's the original edition, which features a map of the United States and southern Canada, a European version, and the Marklin edition which features a map of Germany and special cards for those into famed model railroad manufacturer Marklin. There are also two expansions for the original game: a Swiss map and a new set of cards called Ticket to Ride: 1910. And don't forget the new Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries game -- a great new 2-3 player version set in Scandinavia!

The game plays great with any of the suggested number of players, including a fantastic game for two. Because the gameboard is made up of tiles which are laid as the game is played, the board changes every game and creates a new and interesting game everytime. What kind of person likes this game? Worm your way to the finish line as you try to out-guess and out-smart your opponents! But don’t be surprised if the worms take an unexpected turn. Fast, frolicking family fun! From Twixt to Ricochet Robots, Randolph demonstrated a knack for seemingly simple games that hide diabolically-addicting elements, and Worm Up! is no different.

$25.99	Blokus 2-4 Players / Ages: 5+ / Play Time: 20-30 minutes Not only is Blokus one of the most beautiful games to be found, it is also a tremendous two to four player abstract strategy game. There are literally only two rules, allowing the game to be accessible to even the most casual of players; and games can end in ten minutes! Players take turns laying down twenty-one pieces of different shapes on a grid, attempting to block their opponents and make more room for themselves. The player who places the most translucent plastic pieces is the winner, as players seek to expand their own territory in this clever little game.

Party Games Party games are games which have a very high degree of player interaction and can accommodate a large number of players. For years the party game genre was dominated by Trivial Pursuit and the other trivia game spin-offs. However this is no longer true, and party games have evolved into an entirely new breed.

$26.95	GiftTRAP 3-8 Players / Ages: 8+ / Play Time: 45-75 minutes Bursting onto the scene in 2006, GiftTRAP is a game about giving the best gift to the other players. Give gifts the other players want and you'll score positive points, give someone something they hate and you'll get negative points. There are hundreds of gifts to choose from and choosing between those gifts is part of the fun. GiftTRAP is both a great conversation starter to help introduce new people to one another, or a good test of how well long time associates know each other's likes and interests. GiftTRAP won the Games Magazine 2008 Party Game of the year, and will appeal to anyone who enjoys party games, but doesn't like games where you need to draw, act, or know trivia.

$15.95	Incan Gold 3-8 Players / Ages: 8+ / Play Time: 20 minutes A hybrid game which can accommodate a larger number of players but works more like a traditional game, this is a reprint of a game called Diamant, which was quite successful in Germany, but never had North American distribution. Incan Gold is a "push your luck" game and simulates explorers delving deep into an abandoned Incan pyramid on the hunt for gold an treasures. Each turn a single card is flipped up and it contains either gold for the players to split amongst themselves, or a hazard. When players see the second hazard card of the same kind all players left in the mine must give up their gold, as gold is only safe if players extricate themselves and return to camp. But if players leave they cannot share in any of the further gold discovered. Incan Gold is great for a larger group and will really appeal to those people who enjoy are natural "gamblers."

$23.95	Wits & Wagers 4-20 Players / Ages: 10+ / Play Time: 25 minutes The top seller at Funagain in the party game category for the past two years, Wits & Wagers is the perfect trivia game for people who hate trivia games. While trivia games have been popular for years they have one flaw, the person who reads encyclopedias for fun always dominates the game. Not with Wits & Wagers. All answers in the game are in the form of numbers, and each player writes his or her answer on a card. Those answers are then ranked from smallest to largest and all players bet on which answer they think is correct. The correct player gets a small amount of points, but the real payoff happens when the players who bet on that answer are paid off according to the space on the board the answer was placed. Don't know the answer to "how long is a blue whale?" That doesn't matter, because you can simply bet on the marine biologist's answer who is playing with you.
