A surprising hit!
September 15, 2003

I got this game (on sale at a store) at my kids' insistance, and was surprised by how much they like it. This is a memory game with a couple of interesting twists. Essentially, one picks up pizza toppings (round chips, placed face down) to put on one's slice of 'pizza'. If the piece doesn't match others on your slice (your first pick determines what topping goes on your slice), then you return the piece face down and the next player gets a turn. The goal is to put all the pieces on your slice. This part of the game gets competitive as players try to observe what others have picked up and try to remember which pieces go on their slice.

However, and here is the interesting part, there are a few 'switch' pieces. If you get a switch piece, you must switch with the player with the specified pizza slice. During a game, one inevitably will switch several times and sometimes get back one's original piece. The Switch greatly softens the competitiveness of the game, allowing chance to intervene and making it a light-hearted game that even very young kids can enjoy it while losing.

This is a great game for kids under 7.
