Product Description

The horses have been running wild on the range. Our job is to round up as many as we can & bring them back to the Ranch Corral. Maybe some are in the Box Canyons. Maybe some are grazing along the Trail. As we ride out, we'll have to get some Lassoes and Binoculars and watch out for Falling Rocks! They can block up a Trail and leave a beautiful horse trapped. We will have to work together as a team, sharing our equipment and talking over our Ideas. Because of the random setup, each game is a new adventure. Maybe this is why parents enjoy it too. Happy Trails, pardners, and have a good Round-up!

This game was a gift for my 6 year old son. Having played a cooperative game from Family Pastimes before (Max) he was eager to try it. I let him stay up past his bedtime to keep playing because it was so engaging for both of us!

To play, you start with the game tiles upside down, randomly placed around the board. As you turn them over, you try to find the 5 horses and get them back to the corral safely. During the game, bolders might fall in the path, but if you find the lassos, you can move the bolders out of the way. If you find binoculars, you get a chance to peek under any bolders that have fallen on pieces still face-down. Sometimes when you think the path is clear, you turn over a card that changes your strategy completely!

Each game provided lots of opportunities to talk through the 'what ifs' and make team decisions about what to do next. It's great for encouraging turn-taking; the rules clearly outline the 4 things you can choose to do on a turn.

This game involves just the right amount of strategy for younger players, but keeps older players interested, too. Each game lasted about 10-15 minutes.

Great game
October 26, 2010

This is a perfect game for young children. Engaging, easy to play and no one stomping away in a fit. Had kept my boys (6, 9) engaged for years.
