Product Description

Trivial Pursuit is the game that makes trivia an evening-long entertainment. The game contains six thousand questions and answers in six separate categories: Geography, Entertainment, History, Art & Literature, Science & Nature, and Sports & Leisure.

  • Where would you be if you landed smack in the middle of Plock?
  • Who received the only Oscar made of wood?
  • What year did the lights go out?
  • Who lived at 221B Baker Street?
  • What's the most intelligent creature on Earth after man?
  • How many major league baseball teams are named for birds?

Answer questions like these correctly and you keep rolling the die, making your way to the six category headquarters and then to the center of the board for a game-winning question in a category selected by your opponents--which naturally, will be in your weakest category!

Good fun but it takes a long time to finish
June 28, 2001

Unless you have a master of general knowledge playing the game, be prepared for a very long night whilst playing Trivial Pursuit. This game has quickly become a classic over the years, but its popularity has trailed off a little in recent times (though it has spawned many themed variants). The players must answer reams of questions, and as they answer correctly they proceed along a board until they have collected all the segments of their wedge-shaped counter. They then proceed to the middle of the board and must answer a question selected by the other players. Unless some of the players are immeasurably smart, a game can drag on for up to 4-5 hours in one session if you're not careful. Overall, it's still good fun though, and by far the best trivia game available to this day. The game's audience can be a bit limited though, with both wargamers and youngsters giving this game a wide berth.
