Get ready for a merry olde chase through Chelsea, the West End, Soho or even Kensington, when you play Scotland Yard... a detective game of dogged pursuit, clever estimation and shrewd collaboration.
One player is the mysterious fugitive Mr. X who is trying to evade capture by the Yard's finest detectives; the other players are the detectives who work as a team planning all their moves together to corner Mr. X. Whether fugitive or followers, all players have the same challenge--to dash through the web of streets traveling from place to place on taxi, bus anf underground routes.
To plot a move demands ingenuity, wile and the proper fare. No ticket... no ride! Try to plan your route several moves in advance to avoid getting hopelessly stranded or cornered.
Taxi, bus or underground? You decide which route is best for fleeing or for following when you play Scotland Yard, the detective game of "fare" play!
This game is a thrill a minute and the more people you have the better. We could play for hours. The opportunity for "MR. X" to escape using his mystery tickets, and the "police" having to strain their minds to remember where Mr. X has been and where he could be makes for an exciting game.
The board layout and design is fantastic and makes for all of the fun. With the Black tickets giving Mr. X a chance to escape by river and the detectives needing to keep a close eye on their remaining taxi, bus and tube tickets, this game is fun. Even though this is largely a game of calculation based on where Mr. X has been and what tickets he plays, the theme and gameplay are fun. It's especially good with a group with all the detectives in play.
