Career poker has its roots in ancient China and is still known there under the name of Zheng Shangyou. It has been translated to the European way of life. The players are employees of the firm of "Simpel & Co." and are constantly struggling for the best positions in the company. The chair of the "boss" is starting to wobble, and before you know it, the journeyman is suddenly calling the shots. And, as it has to be, someone is always at the bottom of the hierarchy and has to do all of the dirty work. What this man is called, is for each to decide for himself. But, in this game, he is called the "dishwasher".
The prior review (imitation being the finest form of sincerity, or something like that) is a fine review. But it must be stated that 'The Great Dalmuti' is the imposter. Karriere Poker came first and 'the Great Dalmuti' and 'Dilbert' clones followed. Much like 'Robo Rally' copied the format and structure of the earlier 'Swashbuckler' and 'Magic: the Gathering' borrowed elements from 'Wiz War.' While all of these games mentioned are fine games, let's realize where the imitation is occurring.
Boss vs. dishwasher, General vs. buck private, Admiral vs. swab, Zheng vs. Shang...there's nothing much new here in this card game that imitates a far better quality and $7 less expensive German iteration called 'The Great Dalmuti.' In that longtime popular favorite the 'dishwasher' is known as the 'peon' who ends up with the worst losing hand and therefore is at the beck and call of all other players until someone else assumes that role. KarrierePoker is simple, YES (or 'Simpel' as the make-believe company-context cutely states), but original, NO.
