Acquire is the exciting fun-and-fortune game for 2 to 6 players. All it takes is a little luck -- and a lot of strategy. Each player builds and strategically manipulates vast, profitable hotel chains. He builds chains, invests in them, merges them in order to collect the bonuses -- in a calculated race to acquire the greatest wealth.
Although out of print now, this game was issued in multiple editions from 1962 through 1999. I only discovered it last year, but was immediately convinced that this is the real thing. For those who appreciate a thinking game, this is better than Monopoly any day!
It is simple to learn, yet requires attention to what other players are doing in order to win. This game requires good strategy and tactics as your money is limited and you need to hold some back in order to invest in the right companies at the right time.
There are still used and new editions available on-line. The 1999 edition is the most attractive with the colored buildings towering over the board, but all editions play the same, so you can save some money if you get an older copy.
