War has changed over time, but the card game bearing its name hasn't changed since it was first played in the 14th century -- until now!
For the first time, War incorporates Love, Peace, Diversity, and Unity! It's a whimsical twist on an age-old card game. Compete to get rid of your cards first, while trying to avoid the heavily-armed Joker (the weakest card).
Card deck features beautiful, entertaining illustrations.
Positives: Takes that old boring standby 'War' and gives it a massive facelift. The rules are also turned upside-down, so that you have to lose all of your cards instead. The cards have a definite 'Tarot' flair to them, and the four new suits can work for any other regular 52-card format game.
Negatives: Still just 'War,' no matter if you flip the rules. And 'War' can only take you so far. Unfortunately, it is still just a facelift, and the core remains unexciting.
Verdict: A nice set of cards, and a fun diversion on the occasion. Not bad to have around when you want to game-play, but don't really want to think. If you can get it, go for it.
