The second "expansion set" for Nuclear War, this explosively funny card game is for 2-6 players of all ages. Choose which world power you'll play: Little Bittyland, Bananaland, Bermuda Triabland, Bagmad, or one of many others included. Use your country's Special Power, secrets, top secrets, & propaganda to gain control of, or eliminate your enemy's population. When that inevitably fails, all-out war breaks out as players launch stealth bombers, submarines, scud missiles, and fire atomic cannons at each other. Stop attacks with patriot anti-missiles, stealth fighters, decoy missiles, saboteurs, and other special cards. Includes one of the special Nuclear Misfunction dice, which may glow in the dark if you get one of the lucky ones. Nuclear Proliferation adds special trading sessions, new top secret and other special cards. It's a sarcastic, humorous look at the futility of Atomic Warfare in the post-cold war 1990's, Can be played by itself, or combined with Nuclear War, Escalation, or both!
This is one of the two expansions for the game Nulcear War. The original Nuclear War game is a hysterical beer-'n-pretzels game where the goal is to be the only person with a surviving population pool. Each player in the game is dealt out pouplation cards, which randomly assigns the number of millions of people in your 'country'. You then have your playing hand filled with missiles, warheads, propaganda, secrets and spy cards. If everyone else is wiped out you win! But beware, anyone who is eliminated from the game gets a 'final retaliation' round where they fire off all of their remaining warhead/missile combinations, so it is possible in this game for everyone to be wiped out - thus everyone is a loser!
Nuclear Proliferation is perhaps the best expansion for Nuclear War. First of all, it includes 13 different country playing mats, and each country has its own special and unique power. This alone enhances the game tremendously! Secondly, Nuclear Proliferation adds many more new missiles and warheads, as well as the introduction of submarines and atomic cannons! Many new humorous secret cards are included as well, which bring many more laughs to the game. A fallout die is also included in this expansion, which could either kill off additional millions of your opponent's population, or could accidentally make the missile explode on your own launchpad.
Regardless, this game is very well designed, and very well suited for 4 or more players (although it could be played with fewer players). In my personal opinion, this game works very well with 5-6 players, and is certain to bring many laughs to your evening of playing. Each game lasts about 1-2 hours depending on the number of players. The game is very easy to learn, and can get quite intense at times as players are getting down to their last few million people. And this is probably the only game that you will every hear anyone say: 'Do you have change for 25 million people?' With a theme like this, how can you go wrong?
