I never had an opportunity to play the original, but this new version, with the adorable animal pieces and new board design is incredibly fun! There appears to be a lot of rules, but once you start playing, the game is easy to learn. It's great fun for children, because of it's simplicity. However, there's some strategy involved, so adults can get competitive too. It's a great addition to other family games.
