A collection of over 70 co-operative games & activities, mostly for younger players, aged 4 to 12. Teachers, parents, recreation club leaders, church groups, anyone dealing with children and wanting a different experience in game playing will want to get this booklet of co-operative games. Players play together and not against each other. More fun for everyone this way!
As a children's librarian I am often looking for new ideas for games that children can play when we have special party programs in the library. I bought this book in hopes of finding ideas that I could use in the library. As yet I haven't tried out any of the games. Going over the book's 88 games I did find sixteen ideas that might work for my programing. This is not so bad considering how cheap the book is.
The major weakness of the book is that there is too much of mix between indoor and outdoor games. Some sections like Ball Games, Water Games, and Most of the Hide and Seek Games are best suited for outdoor camps or places with a gym. There are other sections like the Cards Games and Word Games that are best suited for indoor play. There are also games that would work best in a house because you have to hide things.
Final note not a bad purchase if you are looking for ideas for programs. I would be willingly to try his Co-Op Parlor Games Manual.
