Here's a fast paced card game that lets you count your chickens in a batch! One, two, three four... Think you can count any more? Five, six, seven eight... better stop before it's too late! The more chickens you count, the more points you'll get. But if you turn over a wolf card, all your points fly the coop! The player with the highest score wins.
Sometimes the best games are the simple ones. This game took about a minute to learn, and my kids had a lot of fun. I also like games that don't require higher level brain functions - especially at 8:00 at night. Again, foul play fit the bill perfectly. I wish there were more quick and fun games like this.
I saw this game won an Oppenheimer & Dr. Toy Award. I'm not big on learning new games, but this one was easy. Once you start playing, it's incredibly fun, though my young son wins almost every time! I highly recommend it. The price is great, so, now it's at the top of my list for kids' birthday gifts.
Tip: Set aside the "wolf" cards that are drawn so you know how many are left.
This is a great game for kids! I'd like to give it 5 stars but the reply value isn't as great as I'd hoped. It's a fun filler game, so fast and easy. You keep flipping cards (at your own risk) as long as you see chickens. Keep 'em all or risk the next flip. If you flip a wolf, you lose them all! Kind of like an '80s daytime gameshow. It keeps 5+ year olds on the edge of their seat and we have fun, but we usually quickly turn to another 5+ game like Treasure Falls.
Overall a satisfactory card game for younger kids, well worth owning.
