Turn over all the tiles so the numbers face up. Turn over tiles 1, 2, & 3 and make a loop with one color. Add tile 4 and make a loop with those. Continue adding one tile at a time and creating loops... if you can!
With additional sets of Tantrix Discovery, you can achieve even higher numbers.
Yeah I know this is a family site, but c'mon don't you wish Funagain carried a shot glass chess board set? I do, I have one, played it a few times, but they take too long to play however, with several sets of 10 Tantrix tiles you can have faster games, hence more opportunities to get your opponents wasted!
I actually have 2 sets, wish I could get more. One set is all black bakelite and the other is green and black speckled bakelite. Both came with a deluxe wooden base to hold the tiles for display when not in use. Mr. Kitty unfortunately lost 2 of the black set under the couch, of course I'll not find them until I move but at least I'll find them. I've never played it using drinking as penalties but come to think of it instead racing a clock, whoever finishes first does NOT have to imbibe! I wish I could get a few more sets in other colors, but it doesn't seem possible at the moment. There is a 56 tile discovery pack version that I just ordered, looking forward to playing that with 2-4 players. There are also rules for solitaire play and "unsolved" puzzles to solve, so I'll review that when I can.
As for the 10 tile sets, I really wish I could get like 4 more (for a total of 6) in colors other than black and green. I would put them on my bar (when I have a house so equipped) so whenever guests come over we have something to tinker with while we drink, plus we have a vehicle to incorporate into our beer drinking!!!! What more could you possibly ask for other than, a tile game with alcoholic beverage penalties for coming in last????
Perfect for your desk, your minivan (on extended trips), your bar, a coffee table, the places you can display this literal conversation piece game are ENDLESS!!!! If you can find them in sets of 10 get several, or just buy the 56 jumbo set. It's a small price for literally a huge game (56 tiles that is). Enjoy.
