Product Description

The race to home is on. Get your marbles on the move and zip ahead of your opponents. Take a chance on shortcuts and try to get home faster or zoom around the board and chase after other players. Have fun aggravating your opponents and send their marbles back to start. But watch your back, or else they can aggravate you, too. Be the first to get all of your marbles home and you win.

Aggravate your opponent!!!!!!

I LOVE this game! Every person you play against becomes your NEMESIS!! Your job is to strategically move your marbles so that each of them is in place to AGGRAVATE your opponent!! Whenever they get even CLOSE to Home, BAM ! - - you land on them and send them back to their base! You send two of your marbles down so that you can choose from each roll of the dice how to keep them in range for destruction.

What makes it even more deadly is that at the same time, THEY have YOU in their sites - - you can be as aggravated as you make them. Sometimes even that can be a blessing - - putting you in position to go straight down their final track to Home, to destroy them once again!

I used to play against one other player where each of us had 3 colors to play with -- that's 12 marbles to simultaneously deploy for aggravating your opponent and running Home.

This game is a classic for a reason!

Classic games for kids of all ages ... best with 4 players

Nothing fancy, just plain simple fun. I was introduced to the game as the classic marble game. I will say, I can see it being a bit tedious and boring if there are fewer than 4 players, but if you HAVE 4 players and play in teams, this game can be down-right wickedly fun. Great game for couples, and/or family of 4.

Aptly named

At some point I believe every child has been gifted with Aggravation by some well-meaning aunt or grandmother. It is one of those games that exists in a tattered box at the bottom of almost every family game closet, missing a marble or two and not lying quite flat due to the warping of the board. We all know the game, we have all played the game.

So why have there been no reviews with all the thousands of reviews on this site? Because it just isn't a very good or interesting game. It is a tedious dice-fest with little real scope for strategy, playing like a dumbed-down and multi-player version of backgammon. With so many good games on the market, I think this one has gotten by just because of its ubiquitous nature. It is an easy pick for the game-impaired, a recognizable name in a sea of American game mediocrity, a game easy enough to play with children and not tax their little minds.

I have news for you, aunties of the world. The kids are smarter than you realize and there are much better games that will challenge them a lot more than this hoary old chestnut. Take the time to find one of the European games, a Ravensberger game, for example. The kids will thank you for it.
