The aim of the game is to remove three marbles from the board. However, in this shifty strategy, the route can be altered by sliding the movable squares, leading you or your opponent completely off-track. Will you move a marble or slide a square? The choice is yours. But watch out as your opponents are attempting to negotiate the 'quicksand' first.
Quits is one of those games with deceptively simple rules. On a board of 25 squares, each player gets five pieces. On each turn, a player either can move a piece (never backward) or move a row of squares that contains one of their pieces. The goal is to get three pieces off the board by reaching the opposite-corner space.
Simple, but such fun! And the moves can be surprisingly agonizing: Do I try to move one of my pieces closer to the goal, or do I use a turn to send a row of squares containing my opponents' pieces backward? It's fast and fun, and once the game is over we usually want to go at it one more time.
One wishes Gigamic would come out with a version that has more squares, so the game would play out longer. Still, it's hard to gripe about the game, as it's so entertaining. And being made by Gigamic, it's handsomely produced, with wooden pieces and a base that would look great on a coffee table.
