Welcome to the land of oil-multi's -- multi-millionaires that is. Take a ride on the rollercoaster of oil prices. You don't have to be an oil baron in order to flood the marker with crude oil and in the next turn make it scarce. All you need is a flair for business, a nose for good investments in the right place and a lucky hand with the dice. Then you're on your way to sure billions! Sure? That's up to you, as your opponents are after the same thing.
Forget Monopoly!
If you like get rich games, this is the one for you! McMulti is as realistic as a fairly simple game can be.
Are your pumps not hitting? Check the import market and buy cheap there. Is the price on the import market too high? Check the domestic market. Do you have a surplus of crude and need cash? See who is buying at the best price.
Timing is everything in life - and in McMulti.
Plan your cash flow so you can buy (drill rigs, pumps, refineries and gas stations)when the economic cycle is in depression and prices are low. Hold your product (as much as you can) till the economy takes an upswing.
For those who like to interact with their fellow players, there may less of that to McMulti than in Monopoly, for example.
However, everything you do effects everyone else. Of barrel of oil you buy or sell raises or lowers the price of the next barrel bought or sold.
This is real economics - learn while you play!
This is an oil-drilling game of the highest caliber. Two to four players and it plays well in each scenario. This game has hundreds of playing pieces - from barrels of oil and gas to drilling derricks, oil pumps, refineries and gas stations - all of which are of high quality molded plastic. Also a sufficient quantity of play money which gets well used in this game. In brief, you own a land mass upon which you buy and place derricks to drill. The only random factor here is a 'gusher' which depends on the roll of the die. The key is to fill your land with all the derricks you can afford and sell them off later as you need to. Success in drilling lets you buy a pump which leads to a refinery which leads to a gas station and multiples thereof. The faster you buy the better off you'll be. I've played this numerous times with many different player types and not one has found it lacking. Not for young kids as the many parts are easily lost or swallowed.
