Play your cards right to amass the most cash. You can try playing it conservative to yield rich returns. Or maybe aggressive deals are more your style. Do whatever it takes to turn $500 million seed money into billions.
Bid against your opponents to buy big-ticket properties like the Island Resort or Luxury Residence. Or you can use your Trump cards to strike profitable deals. Think another player would pay $50 million for one of your cards? Go for it!
After all of the properties have been bought and all of the deals have been made, players count their cash. The player with the most money wins!
One of my college roommates received Trump as a gift and the first time we played it, we went in with the thought, 'oh well, we'll give it a try.' But I ending up thinking that this probably the funnest board game I've ever played. During the 'dealing' phase, you can be as creative as you want. We went through a period where we played this almost non-stop. Our deals became more and more complicated--and sneaky--as we moved our negotiations into other rooms during beer or snack 'breaks'. I'm now trying to find another copy of this game so I can introduce it to the other members of my monthly game club. (We need more than one so we can accommodate all our members.) If you ever stumble across this hard to find game, buy it. I think you'll be glad you did.
What looked like a glitzy, pointless game turned out to be an easy to learn, dynamic game. It is played in two phases: first you buy up property using a 3 part bidding scheme and after all the prperty is sold, phase two begins and everyone makes deals with anyone else to try to win the game with the most money. The neat part is that the deals can be as creative as your imagination will allow. There is plenty of interaction among players as they try to outbid each other, throw each other out of the bidding, impose property taxes on opponents, and build up a powerful enough cache of cards to see them through the game.
I highly recommend Trump: The Game.
