Here's another great Out of the Box (OOTB) game. In typical OOTB style, Easy Come Easy Go takes 1 minute to explain the rules and then you can start playing. And as usual, they did not sacrifice anything in the quality of the game to make it simple to learn.

For starters, the components are FABULOUS. The prize cards are attached to some kind of foam material making them thick and sturdy. The 4 six-sided dice are very unique in that they have a zero on one side instead of a six. The dice cup is a nice felt-lined cup. The rules are filled with detailed examples, to make the game even easier to learn. Also, OOTB really knows how to package their games to make everything very stable in the box.

I think there's a reason that the word Easy is in the title of this game twice, it is extremely simple. What you need to do is roll the 4 dice on your turn and try to fulfill the requirements listed on one of the prizes. After each roll you either take a prize (if you've fulfilled it's requirements) or keep at least one die and roll the rest. The trick is once you've kept a die, you cannot re-roll it on that turn. Therefore you have a maximum of 4 rolls. If you don't have the right rolls to win one of the prizes, your turn is over.

There are 9 prizes you are fighting over. To win the prizes you need things like a 4 of a kind, or a total on the dice of three or less, or all 4 dice adding up to exactly 7. The catch is that every prize is "in play". You can take the prizes from the center of the table (where they start), or from another player. So you can win a prize and then the next player can take it from you right away if they roll the right combination of dice. One player wins the game when they start their turn with the required number of prizes.

I reluctantly have to compare this game to Yahtzee. Everyone who has played Yahtzee will see the similarity in compiling dice for a certain combo. The upside to Easy Come Easy Go is that there is a much greater player interaction since only one player can hold each "prize" at a time. Also Easy Come has a lot more strategy. Yes luck of the dice is a factor but being aware of what prizes you can take, and when to steal them takes some planning.

The end-game is the best part. When someone has gained the requisite number of prizes you must decide whether to try to stop them from winning or grab another available prize. When it comes down to the last persons turn, and they either have to steal a prize from the next player or the games over, it gets very exciting.

The stealing aspect may seem a bit cut-throat, but it's all in good fun. I like the player interaction and the light feel of this game. It's a great filler that lasts a very short amount of time. For a dice game Easy Come Easy Go is top-notch. I would highly recommend it for some casual gameplay with family and friends.
