Two teams oppose each other on the board representing the pitch, and try to score ten goals with a red disc to reach a score of ten. Each team has three discs. As in real life team sports, there are offside positions, fouls and penalty areas. The smooth wooden surface and the elastic cushions allow billiard-like artistic shots. This game for every fan of tactical skill games is a must in every clubhouse.

I ordered this as a 2005 Christmas gift for myself. We played it at my parents house and it was fun.
I recently brought the game into my office to play with a co-worker. We have been playing it during lunch or after work. This game is awesome. We like it because it is a skill game that takes practice, tactics and good dexterity to excel at.
We get about 3 games in during our lunch hour. We have a lot of fun. The other games we enjoy playing are Fubi, Crokinole, Tipp-Kick, Stiga Table Hockey, Subbuteo and Le Passe Trap. Zopp is our favorite game right now.
It does cost more than other games. It is also built better and made of higher quality components than other games. The components are made from wood.
Anyway, give it a try. After some practice, you will see how enjoyable the competition can be playing this game.
I was waiting for FunagainGames to restock this item, and I was finally able to get hold of one.
Like the other reviewers have said, it is very well made, and the wooden frame looks great. Using the Zopp powder, the pieces move just like on an air hockey table especially the red 'ball' which can bounce a good 4-5 times. I don't think it's 'necessary' to use the powder, although there will be much more friction and the pieces stop quicker.
Anyway, you can make a lot of nice shots in this game. Oftentimes, we make 'great looking' indirect shots followed by the phrase 'OOOO! Nice one!'. And as for the foul rule (of hitting the other players piece before the ball)...we tend to ignore it because usually we can't tell if it was a foul or not.
My Zopp version is different from the one photo above. The company removed the steel goals, and instead, the goals are 'carved' into the frame which I think is probably better. It has a blue field, with tan bumpers.
As for the price, it is pretty steep, and I'd only recommend buying one if you KNOW you'd play it often just by looking at the pic.
A beautiful wooden playing pitch with steel goals lets you know this company is committed to giving us a quality product. The playing pitch is colored green with soccer field marking drawn in. Each team gets 3 circular markers (players). There is a samller and thinner 'ball.' And the powder. The powder is sprinkled on the pitch. The combination of the powder and the rubber bumpers on the side of the board make the ball 'fly.' Like billiards you have to hit one of your men into the ball in order to score a goal. You can also make defensive moves to put your men into a better game position. If you hit an opposing player before you hit the ball, there is a penalty: Your opponent gets two shots in a row. So defensive positioning becomes a must. The rules are few, but enough to make this a tactical game, or just play it like nok-hockey. You can hit the player with the included sticks or flick with your finger. The game has that 'just one more' quality to it. Everyone will like this game. A real winner.
