Ready... Aim... Scream! This is the military base expansion for the Zombies!!! board game. Z2C adds 15 new map tiles (Barracks, Motor Pool, Secret Lab, etc.), 30 new event cards (Rocket Launcher, Govt. Enhanced Zombies, etc.), rules and six glow-in-the-dark zombie miniatures. Requires Zombies!!! to play.
However, if you load the tiles leading to the army base with zombies, getting to the army base is difficult and not worth it, so you end up hanging around the town. We leave the those tiles empty. We also allow the uber-zombies to jump over regular zombies to bet them into play and they are very good at thwarting your opponents attempts to get the military base's helicopter pad.
The military base is a little light on goodies and that makes it less desirable to go to, depending on what tiles turn up.
If you liked Zombies!!! or have ever imagined yourself battling it out with a horde of zombies, you will find this expansion well worth it. Like the original, it allows for some modification while, maintaining the integrity of the game.
I own both Zombies and this expansion. While I find the first very fun, the expansion doesn't seem to offer enough value to justify the playing of it (it's not a bad purchase though, as you can always remix the game as you see fit).
Essentially the game introduces the wonderfully cliche of government involvement in the zombie infestation. A slew of new cards and tiles are introduced and a second helipad is added.
I love the concept, but the rules don't really give you much reason to try to infiltrate the military base. I highly suggest playing with only the military helipad instead of both. The game can easily devolve into a "ignore the military base" fest which leaves you wondering why you added in the extra cards in the first place.
The expansion also suffers from a lack of zombie pieces. In a larger game the board fills up with zombies quite fast and the players can be stuck adding no zombies to the game. Where's the fun in that ;)
If you do get this game, pick up the "bag o' Babes" to fill out (pun intended) your zombie corps.
