This card game's deck consists of 60 cards, most of which are numbered in succession. Some cards have a picture of a blind Hen (hence the title) with one or more eggs. Nobody wants these blind chicken eggs since they give negative points. Essentially, this is a normal trick game where you don't have to follow suit (all cards have the same color). The highest card takes the trick--and possibly a blind hen. What makes this game special? After dealing the cards the players have to place the cards carefully in their hands, since they are only allowed to play the first or the last card from the hand. Sometimes you get it wrong and catch a blind hen in spite of all considerations. To make matters worse, the negative points from blind hens get multiplied when there are more of them in the same trick. Not an incredibly demanding game, but quick and fun.
Look, this isn't bridge and it's not the most thought provoking game, but it's easily learned and can be a blast. The gimmick of leading from the card on the left or right will cause fits, but it's not without some degree of skill. Keep that high card toward the center to get the last trick and to throw out an unfortunate one. It's not Hamlet but a tasty omelette!!!!
