Cranium Hoopla is a fast-paced game sure to inspire hilarious good times, whether you're acting out "roller rink," drawing "spandex," or crafting word clues to get your teammates to guess "Tyrannosaurus Rex"!
Perfect for 2 or more players, this collaborative game takes just 5 minutes to learn and 20 minutes to play. Its convenient, portable design makes it ideal for any occasion -- pack it for a weekend getaway, toss it in the car, or take it to a friend's house.
Just pass out the cards, start the timer, and get your teammates to guess what's in your hand.
I played this game for the first time recently and had a great time. I like the cooperative nature of the game (everyone plays together against the clock), and it seems like it would be easy to modify -- adding your own cards or taking out those which are not right for your group. I agree with the criticism that some of the cards are obscure -- there was at least one person card who our group of adults hadn't heard of, but it did not seem to interfere with the playability of the game. Players who are less articulate may have difficulty with some sections, which is why it is listed as "13 and up," however our 12-year-old boys were fascinated, as onlookers. A wonderful party game for a large group -- you may need to adjust the time limit, but I could easily see the game played with up to 10 people, which makes it a nice option when you have too many for a more traditional board game. I'm buying it. ^.^
This is a great cooperation game. It's not you against other players, it's you with other players against the game. You work together doing crazy activities to get your teammates to guess your cards. If all the cards are gone before the 15 minute timer runs out, everybody wins.
The only thing that keeps this review from reaching 5 stars is the difficulty of some of the cards. I occasionally hear complaints from people in our group that they don't even know the people whose names they drew. From time to time we are forced to take a penalty just to get a card out of a players hand.
Otherwise this is a great game, loads of fun for everybody. Great for parties or even for a couple wanting to play a game together.
