Get ready for laughter as your friends and family suddenly start sounding like they were born in a barn! In Snorta each player chooses the sound of a typical farm animal and the fun begins. As players quickly flip over cards, tongue-tied players stumble and stutter to blurt out the animal sounds of the other players. Before long your barnyard fills with bales of laughter. You will have a hoot with Snorta!
My kids first played it at their friend's houses and would not stop talking about it. I finally gave in and bought them the game, which happened to be one of the best board game purchases since scrabble. We sit down fairly regularly(maybe once a week) to play a good game of snorta (or two). its such a family-friendly game, and it creates an equal playing field for all ages in the family. My youngest if probably the best in fact. Unlike many veteran board games out there, Snorta is extremely inexpensive. Their new website is great. It has a flash tutorial to try out before purchasing the game. If your child is around, let them try the online version. If they like it, then they will love the home game also.
*note- also a great drinking game, trust me!

This is the first game my children and their cousins choose to play when they get together with their grandparents. We play with the animal "out of the barn" and visible so it's a bit easier for all. I think the hardest part of the game is to remember the exact sound each player has dubbed for his/her animal (sheep could be "baaa" or "maaa"; pig could be "oink" or "snort") and saying it quickly! The really gets everyone laughing!!
This is a great game to play in the middle of the night! It is fun to see people trying to remember what animal is hidden under their opponent's barn. It makes for some truly side-spliting fun. The more players the better. I wouldn't say this is the best game I have ever played but it is a good game for introducing new players to gaming or playing in a large party environment. This is not a game for people that are not willing to make fun of themselves in the persuit of having fun.
If you can laugh at yourself, not take the game too seriously, and just enjoy yourself...you will enjoy this game. It is a mix of "slap-jack", memory, and singing "Old McDonald Had a Farm" all rolled into one...well snorta....
