Blink is the lightning-fast game where two players race to be the first to play all of their cards. Using sharp eyes and fast hands, players quickly try to match the shape, count, or color on the cards. The first player out of cards wins!
Fast and portable, Blink is instant fun for everyone!
We have a ladies game night once a month. We love to play this game as we are waiting for everyone to arrive. It is also great for family trips since the game goes so quickly.
My 6 yo daughter plays as well. (I slow myself down a bit to match her speed) I love that it makes her think about things in different ways and realize things are similar and different in many ways at the same time!
It has really improved my speed in the game "Set" as well.
This card game is easy to learn, fast-paced, high-energy, very short, and loads of fun. We always play more than one hand and usually find ourselves laughing and squealing in the process. And we don't even have kids. It's a great tension buster, you get totally engrossed, and you've still got your entire evening left to play more Blink or another game.
In Blink, each player gets half the deck, two cards are placed face up, and you race to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible by matching either the color, the type, or the number of the symbol on the card. I would not liken it to War because unlike War there really isn't any luck involved. It's all about speed. This is a great game to play with kids, who can be surprisingly fast. My eight-year-old can beat me regularly. My six-year-old is slower, but I can handicap the game without her knowing it simply by giving myself a few extra cards. One time she laughed so hard while playing it that she fell off the stool she was sitting on. Even though it's only a two player game, it goes so quickly that it's easy to play with groups using a sort of 'tournament' format. My kids like to watch, though they much prefer to play. I highly recommend this game. It's simple, fun for both kids and grown ups, fast, and probably even a bit educational.
