Hilarity ensued...
November 04, 2009

Played this down the club on Monday night, and we laughed the whole way through. The game took us about 15 minutes to work through the rules (six players), and the game took about 90 minutes to play. We made it to within 8 minutes of victory, surviving reactor malfunction and the kraken attack, before the sub sank deep enough to crush us all to death!

Good points - gameplay was simple, though we did have to check the rulebook on a number of occasions early on. The concept was very funny. And the pictures on the cards enhance the game.

Bad points - the board; it's tiny - no more than a sheet of A4 paper - and makes tracking the time unnecessarily awkward.

Overall - 4 stars. We lost, and we still all enjoyed the game. This is one game where the journey IS more important than the arrival!

Too complicated, confusing, can't figure out how to make the first move
December 31, 2008

After spending two hours reading the 23 page instruction manual, viewing utube videos about how to play and reading several forums that try to make sense of the instructions I have to conclude that this game is just too complicated.

My family had high hopes for this game, it looks fun, but we are frustrated by the confusing rules. The rule book gets you to a point where you at least understand all the various tokens, cards and markers and how to place your player piece on the board to set up the game. But how do you start the game? Several posts in the forums all ask the same question.

The only way I am going to understand how to play this game is to actually watch someone else set the game up, start play and proceed through several moves. If the publisher would be willing to put up a video that accomplishes this I will attempt to play the game again and might put up a better review.

We are game players and have dozens of other current games (most bought from this site) and we have never before been unable to play a game due to confusing instructions.
