Players are in 16th century Japan, trying to attain the position of daimyo. They must manage their land, their peasants, and their neighbors while trying to gain power and keeping their ears open for assistance from the emperor's advisers.

The double-sided gameboard allows for a faster game for 2-4 players or a more involved game for 3-5 players.
