I was shocked at the poor quality of this offering from Hasbro. For the last six years I have been designing and developing games, good quality games that focus on playability and interaction and have yet to be able to find a publisher to pick them up...but I go to the store and purchase Scrabble Slam and bring it home expecting to find a fun, fast paced game, but what you end up with is a poorly designed and extremely boring card game.

COMPONENTS: Not bad, but nothing great...just cards and they are fine.

RULES: Typical...and adequate considering the game itself.

PLAY: This is where the game falls completely flat...so, you start with four cards on the table and players begin placing cards to make new words...the problem is you simply begin repeating the same words over and over again.

This is the way every game goes...even if you don't want it too...if you pause to make sure you don't repeat the same words over and over it slows the game down so much...or worse, there are no words you can make that don't repeat.

It's as if there was NO playtesting done on this product and because someone called in "Scrabble - something" that it was given an automatic green light.

SUMMARY: Spend your money elsewhere...really.
