Product Description

A new "heavily revised" edition of the 1996 release from Blatz, a game in which players try to build tall towers -- but more importantly bet on which towers will be tallest when the game ends. Each turn, you lay a card showing 1-3 towers on one of the five existing towers. You then place 1-3 influence on a tower and draw a face-up card from deck 1-3, with the number in each of these cases matching the number of towers that you placed. Thus, to draw a particular card from the three face-up decks, you must play a certain card from your hand first, and that card will have to go onto a certain tower.

When one of the decks runs out, the game ends, and those with the most and second-most influence on the four tallest towers score points.

Plain Fun
July 22, 1999

I purchased this game intentionally as a game that could be nice to play inbetween other games or as a closer. And so it was. It is basically a no-brainer, but small tactics might help in some situations.

The game plays well with 2 persons, but I enjoyed it most with 4.

The idea of the game is simple. There are 5 towers to be build. During building you may place bets on which tower will become highest at the end. Per phase you can add one, two or three stories on any building. Then you can place a bet (optional). The trick here is that you can only bet on one of three towers that are faced-up in one of three piles (Finito 1, 2 and 3 piles) next to the towers and you can only bet the number of points equal to or greater than the amount of stories you just built.

The next step is to draw the card from the Finito pile equal to the amount of stories you placed.

When all cards of any of the three piles are gone the word Finito remains....finished.

Flags cards are placed above the towers with two scores on it giving points to the number one better of the tower (he gets the highest amount of points issued on the flag) and the number two better. There are 4 flags for 5 towers. Betters on the smallest tower get no points at all.

The game is fast and fun. There are a limited of betting chips (which I found a pity), so don't use them up too fast and don't be too late, the draw pile can be empty before you know it.

Small tactics as the moment of betting, checking out which cards your opponent drew, checking out the height of the draw pile and withholding cards of opponent players and building the correct amount of stories to draw a good card may apply.

We enjoyed the game because it is just plain fun and I did not regret buying it.
