Not a trivia buff? It doesn't matter!
Think you know it? Bet on your own guess.
Think you know who the experts are? Bet on them!
Now also available in a Family edition.
Wits and Wagers is a game that I first became familiar with at the Origins Gaming Convention in Columbus, OH. It was in it's premiere and North Star Games was doing demos of it and many of it's other new games. As soon as I played the demo, I knew that I HAD to own this game. I bought it right there on the spot. I went back several times during that weekend to keep playing the demos and help others get into the game. I took it back to my board-game loving family and friends and we all had a blast with it! This game has something for everyone - trivia for the quizzical type and luck/chance for the wagering type. Even my 6 year old brother (at the time) loved it and we all had a blast playing it with him. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone!
I was first introduced to North Star Games by going to their booth at GenCon in 2008, and was instantly hooked on their games. This was my most recent acquisition and turns out to be an even bigger hit then Say Anything! Whenever my wife and I go to a family function, we make sure to take this along. It's been a huge hit among gamers and non-gamers alike. Even my seventy four year old aunt loves this game and has great fun on trying to figure out who has the best answer. I'm looking forward to playing with the expansion as well. Great game, great company. If you ever have the need for a party game, you *need* to have this in your library of games.
I play a lot of games. A few of them fall under the "party" category. And Wits & Wagers is the best of them!
When trivia games come off the shelf, half the people are up to the challenge while the other half groan. This game is perfect for both groups. One gets to test their general knowledge on some impossibly hard questions while the other enjoys the bluffing and betting that comes along with selecting the best answer. This is "The Price is Right" meets "Trivial Pursuit" with everyone having a blast.
With 600 questions, the game holds up to repeated plays. We play this game a lot, with a lot of different people. We enjoyed it so much that we made it part of our wedding reception where each table played in their own game. Everyone went away wanting more!
I highly recommend this game for any gathering. You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like this game.
