This is the best game I've ever played! It is a huge improvement on Monopoly and you learn a lot after playing this game! You learn about tons of cities and you learn the flag of the country that the city is in and you learn names of multiple different streets in those cities! This game is a great bonding experience! It takes strategy, luck, and a willingness to have fun! In this game you can gamble and get up to 3600 in one turn by betting 100 dollars! If you're losing you can EASILY turn the game around. And get this, you can buy gas stations on any property even before you have a set. I highly recommend getting this game!

For those of us who thought Monopoly got too easy to predict, Triopoly arrived like a shot in the arm. A three-level Monopoly-style board with different cities serving as the sets and a whole bunch of new twists and turns. The prices get higher and the paydays get lower as you journey to the upper level. The rents get higher as well and the addition of gas stations (which can be put on any property without having the set!) is a diabolic twist. In addition, there are travel cards which take you directly to a space on the board--no 'if you pass payday collect your money' here. Many times I have landed on the travel space right before the top level payday and missed my $200. The stock market cards can be game-makers and game-breakers, and you have to watch your money (as well as that of the other players) carefully before making any deals with other players.

I have found this game to be enjoyable with anywhere from 2 to 6 people. For 6 and up, we came up with a rule that makes things a little more interesting. We roll to see who goes first with the lowest roll choosing which of the top two levels to start on and the second lowest getting the other.

A great improvement over the original (which gets panned for being so predictable and causing my father to hate it) and one that is playable again and again.

It loses 1 star for not having Detroit as one of the cities. (Just a little home state pride there.)

My dislike for Monopoly is fairly well-known. I dislike stems from the fact that there is just too great a luck factor to a game that is purportedly a strategy game. It becomes predictable, and the basic mechanics are just not that interesting.

Enter Trioploy, which is a variation on the basic Momopoly mechanic only in that there are now three boards to contend with. Players can move occasionally from one board to the next nnoer or outer board, which stack atop each other. Each board provides its own set of properties. The game difficulty can be customized by using one, two, or all three boards.

The problem here is that there simply is not that much that is new or esciting to warrant this rather deluxe presentation. Play varies only slightly from the Monopoly paradigm, and there is no great cleverness there. Play can take as long or even longer than in Monopoly, since there are now so many more properties to contend with.

This one is a big snooze for me. I give it a pass.
