Taboo Jr. is pretty much what you'd expect out of a junior edition of Taboo (the blockbuster hit game of giving verbal clues for a word without saying one of the 'taboo' words). It's just like the original, but a bit easier. The words are specially selected for the younger target audience, and there are only three taboo words per card instead of five. This makes Taboo Jr. a fine introduction to a great game.

My kids are fairly young, and still find it difficult to come up with good clues. Avoiding the taboo words is a further complication that they are simply not ready for. So I simplified the game considerably by telling them to ignore the taboo words, or even to use them as hint words as to what they should say, if they wish.

This has been very successful for us, so do keep this option in mind when playing with beginners.

Good for kids with learning disorders

I tried the regular ages 12+ Taboo game a few days ago at Relay for Life with the art club team and choir team from my highschool. It was really hard for me and I didn't even know half of the words. I bought this game and this is so much better then the regular taboo game. Even though I am 17 and this game is meant for ages 12 and under I have learning disorders and this game speaks in an easier way for me then the regular game did. Not only is it a great variation of the regular game, its also great for kids or even adults with lower functioning then the regular taboo game requires.
