Product Description

The object of Fill or Bust! is to be the highest scorer. You score with a combination of rolling the dice along with playing the Draw Cards. There are three basic rules that govern each turn.
  1. You must turn over a Draw Card before each turn and after each Fill.
  2. You must score every time you toss the dice.
  3. After each toss you must remove some or all of the scoring dice.

Best of variation on Cosmic Wimpout
August 17, 2005

When I first started dating my wife I joined her family's game night. They played a game that they called "the dice game". It was a simple game where you roll six dice and get points for getting a set with 3 dice or more of the same number. You also get points for 1s and 5s.

The whole idea is you decide whether to keep those points or risk it and roll the non-scoring dice to gain more points. If at any time all the rolled dice are worth nothing, you lose all of your points for the round and it's the next person's turn.

That was the first time I ever played "the dice game". Now I own two different games that have that same basic game mechanic (although I hear there are even more variations).

Fill or Bust is the best of the variations. It plays exactly the same as the basic dice game, but there are special cards that change things up. Some cards give you the ability to roll without any risk, because you'll score your points anyway. Some cards give you a big bonus if you are able to get all the dice to be worth points.

If you can locate a copy of "Fill or Bust" or "Risk & Roll 2000" (because it's basically the same game) pick it up. It is a good game to play with the family that involves taking risks, and a whole lot of luck. There's not too much strategy, but definitely enough to keep everyone entertained.
