This Bohnanza expansion contains new game variants and two new bean types, the Cognac bean and the Field bean. With High Bohn, the players may spend their thalers on buildings located in Virginia City. These building have attributes that give the players new tactics for winning. The Plus part of this expansion adds order cards which allow players to earn extra thalers when they can fill very specific orders.

Having really loved the original Bohnanza I was excited to order this expansion set. As a previous reviewer mentioned you do get two different expansions in one game so it is like getting two games in one. The concepts in the expansion do increase the strategic level of the game and make for a much more challenging play then the original and we likely will always play the game with the expansions.
However, I do have one complaint about this expansion. To be able to play it you must remove elements from the original game (namely the coffee, wax, and cocoa beans). This mean if you play the expansion exclusively you have lost these bean elements from the game. If you like to play both then you are forced to continually sort the deck to accommodate the different games. This is tedious. I would have preferred an expansion that can be added to the entire original game, but that is a small complaint.
I must recommend this version to anyone who enjoyed the original.
