Wits & Wagers Party, a simplified version of the most award-winning party game in history, comes with 250 of the best questions from the out-of-print Wits & Wagers Expansion Pack 1. These questions were chosen because they are lighter and more fun than the questions from the original Wits & Wagers, making this the best edition to play with your non-gamer friends and family. The poker chips in this edition are twice as heavy and thick as those from the original W&W.
How to Play:
1) Someone reads a question.
2) Everyone writes down a guess.
3) The guesses are placed face up on the table and ordered smallest to largest.
4) Players place their Betting Tokens on the guess they think is closest to the right answer.
Players score one poker chip for a correct bet or for having the closest guess. On the seventh and final question, players can bet their poker chips. The player with the most poker chips after this question wins.

Wits and Wagers is a game that I first became familiar with at the Origins Gaming Convention in Columbus, OH. It was in it's premiere and North Star Games was doing demos of it and many of it's other new games. As soon as I played the demo, I knew that I HAD to own this game. I bought it right there on the spot. I went back several times during that weekend to keep playing the demos and help others get into the game. I took it back to my board-game loving family and friends and we all had a blast with it! This game has something for everyone - trivia for the quizzical type and luck/chance for the wagering type. Even my 6 year old brother (at the time) loved it and we all had a blast playing it with him. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone!
I play a lot of games. A few of them fall under the "party" category. And Wits & Wagers is the best of them!
When trivia games come off the shelf, half the people are up to the challenge while the other half groan. This game is perfect for both groups. One gets to test their general knowledge on some impossibly hard questions while the other enjoys the bluffing and betting that comes along with selecting the best answer. This is "The Price is Right" meets "Trivial Pursuit" with everyone having a blast.
With 600 questions, the game holds up to repeated plays. We play this game a lot, with a lot of different people. We enjoyed it so much that we made it part of our wedding reception where each table played in their own game. Everyone went away wanting more!
I highly recommend this game for any gathering. You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like this game.
I was just recently introduced to this game by friends. I immediately went out and purchased my own copy after we played! This game is fast-paced since everybody plays the whole time -- there is no "down-time" as you wait for others to take their turn. It is especially enjoyable since there's no harm in not knowing the answer--you make your best estimate, but if it's totally off-base, no worries! Since you don't lose points for having the wrong answer, there is no stress... and it even makes it a little more hilarious when you can laugh at your answers and your friends' answers that aren't even close. Everybody has a chance to do well in this game -- young or old. It generates lots of laughter and lots of discussion. I can't wait to introduce it to my game night crowd of friends -- it will be a hit!
