Another old classic worth hunting down!
August 08, 2004

I have not payed Squad Leader, though from my observation, it looks complicated and noone seems to want to take the trouble to teach me. Add to that, one look at the rule book and I backed off!

So it was with great hope when I first came across Ambush! many years ago - and boy, did it deliver! Detailed man-to-man combat, individual weapons, personalities, actions, etc, BUT without super complicated rules!

After more than 20 years, I pulled it out again and guess what? Still feel the tension before taking the next step, pain when one of my boys is hit, sorrow when the are KIA, and a 'punch-the-air' feeling when my squad achieves its mission! I immediately hunted down all the expansions which I couldnt affors last time round and am eagarly waiting to play the new missions!

Well worth hunting down a copy and its expansions.
