Product Description

We all know that fish doesn't stay fresh for long. At least our noses know it. This is exactly the problem facing the players in Fishy. As giddy fishmongers, skillful buyers or hard-working fishermen the players try to buy or sell the freshest fish in one of the three different games. The player who winds up with the most old fish will not prosper. His friends probably don't want to be around him for long either.

But not to worry. The fish in this box will never smell, because you receive 120 beautiful wooden fish that never get old. Which means you'll have plenty of time to try all three games. So, why not start now?

Simple, but a lot of fun.
July 28, 1999

I can imagine people could find this game too simple, however, we enjoy it very much. When we go to our friends to play (mostly Spices, Acquire, Siedler or El Grande) they always asked to bring this game along. We enjoyed this game every time so they went out to buy a copy for themselves. According to the box, there is only a limited number of 1200 on the market. So, if you want your piece of the fun, don't hesitate.

The box contains nice wooden pieces of fish and a board on which a 5 layered barrel is drawn. The set of rules is for 3 games: Fresh Fish, Rotten Fish, Fish in the Barrel. Basically meaning to get as much as possible fish into the barrel, out of the barrel or as less as possible at the bottom of the barrel. The different levels in the barrel provide different points.

The game has a nice balance between luck and tactics (a little bit more luck than tactics), is fast and a lot of fun. I cannot catagorize it, but if you like games like Guillotine, Take it Easy or similar game types, then you will most probably like this one as well.
