much different than the 2 player version
February 12, 2001

I had one of my greatest times playing Stratego 4 with friends (for endless hours actually). The game dynamics are much different than the 2 player version since the goal is to reach the center 'carrying' your flag. Also playing with 4 players turns to be chaotic, since alliances change constantly. There are also some interesting features like pieces that can move two times in a turn, cannon that can kill any piece (but only fire once), capturing an opponent's flag gives you the right to 'resurrect' on of your lost pieces (and piss your opponent off). Note that in contraddiction to the game's official rules, we play the game not allowing players to look at captured pieces.

A huge plus for the game is that although having played it countless times I don't think that a winning strategy exists (too many factors to take into account).

Also the enthusiasm is not lost when playing the games many times, because every new game is a totally new BATTLE.

Actually it is the best strategy game that does not require the attention, of more complex games (e.g. Axis & Allies)
