I purchased Landslide with green stamps back in the 70's. My children and I spent many hours playing it and made many fun memories. After my husband died I moved to a new home and somehow the game got left behind or lost and I never found it. I do wish they would start making the game again.
I have spent the past two years tracking this game down after a friend of mine found the game in his basement. I remember playing the game in a fifth grade Geography class and loved it. It only took 6 of us (assembled into teams) a few minutes to have hours of fun over and over again! Should we gamble on a West state? I could be worth California's 45 or Idaho's 3! And, the addition of the covetted Politics cards makes the game very unpredictable! If you ever find a copy of this game (I found mine on E-bay), don't pass it up! Once you learn the mechanics of the game, it will be a hit for a long time with a few friends! Only negative to this game, it usually ends up taking at least two and a half hours and has even reached the four hour mark when we've played it. However, it's great fun!
Fantastic game from the 70's that attempts to reproduce the high-pressure, fast paced world of politics and the management of the electoral college. You play a candidate trying to secure enough electoral college votes (through luck, bargaining or coercion) to be elected Predident of the U.S. If you play with a group, you'll be too busy trying to ruin each other's political careers to realize how much you are(subconciously) learning about the process. Simple rules and fast gameplay add to the enjoyment.
