Get the gem, but don't wake the Idol.
December 08, 2002

Forbidden Bridge is a sister game to It From the Pit and Fireball Island. It is not nearly as much fun however.

Fueled by the blockbuster movie, the game is based on an Indiana Jones type story. Archeologists are racing to get rubies from an old jungle temple. The problem is the idol that protects the gemstones doesn't like visitors and will try to kill them if awoken.

The game features a very nicely illustrated board that is made of molded plastic. The path winds up, down and around jungles, cliffs, and the bridge. The bridge suspended from a mechanical idol that shakes when 'awoken', player rolls the idol face on the die. If any players are on the bridge, they may shake off the side or through the holes to an untimely death and last place in the game. The winner is the first person to flee the island with gems in their backpack.

The play is based on a simple roll of the dice and movement along a fixed path. This game is made for children, but can be fun for the young at heart too.

Positives: Nice looking artwork. No batteries needed for the Idol. Quick play.

Negatives: Low replay value for Adults, gemstones get lost easily.

Recommend if you already have It From the Pit.
