I played this game as a kid and randomly thought about it the other day when my little cousins ask me what board games i used to play. I immediately thought of this game. It was so odd and so fun, there wasn't and still isn't another game like it. I would love to find this game for sale anywhere because my mom threw ours away many years ago, and i cannot quit thinking about how much i want to play this again and relive the fun of it with my cousins.
I wish this game was still in print. I do enjoy the silliness of this game, running around the ridge of the game avoiding the claw of death, but players can easily destroy the game by 'accidentally' hitting the aforementioned claw in spasms of panic. The arm on my game has trouble moving these days, and I'm missing a few of the little explorer men. If only the game had replacement parts available it wouldn't be so bad, but for now, on can't expect to have this game in working order for long
This utterly ridiculous game is surprisingly amusing. The game is simply a race to get treasure. Each player rolls the dice and moves their explorer that many spaces. The game is fun due to IT. IT is this mechanical arm that reaches out and grabs at the explorers and occasionally pulls one of them off the ledge of the circular board.
When the game starts, everyone places one of their explores on the starting space. Then IT gets started up. The first player rolls the dice and moves their explorer that many spaces. After the first move is done, the game starts to look more like hot potato. The dice get passed around frantically as IT tries to grab at the players. If you have the misfortune of having your explorer eaten by IT, you place one of your other explorers on one of the safe zones out of ITs reach depending on how far you had made it around the board. The game ends when either a player makes it to the treasure by an exact roll or IT eats everyone. This game is good for when youre in the mood for twenty minutes of laughter and silliness and it truly is a childs game.
