One of the better "filler" games
June 26, 2001

Many gaming groups know how annoying it can be when a session finishes early and you are racking your brains for a quick game you can play which is themed with the rest of the evening. For fantasy buffs, Krull is a good choice, as it offers a theme which mirrors the movie quite well and yet still provides enough strategy amongst the players that the 20-40 minutes it takes to play will fly by in no time.

Based on the movie of the same name, the players find themselves part of a medieval culture which has been invaded by creatures from a different world which boasts a higher realm of technology. Each player will amass a small collection of hero cards with which to fight the evil slayers and mysterious changelings. All the heroes are taken straight from the film (there is even an accurate representation of Liam Neeson in his younger days on one of the cards) and vary in strength and ability. Cards on the board also move about every time dawn occurs, which makes the Glaive and Black Fortress cards even harder to find. If you're stuck for something quick to play and have medieval fantasy on your mind, Krull is the perfect filler game.
