The BEST possible family game!!!
September 13, 2008

This game absolutely is a wonder, that I wouldn't be surprised if it was played all over the world! Personally, I play it with my family on all of our free seconds, except my half-brother hates the game. I don't see why he hates it, because all the game winners just have had a lucky pair of dice. He just doesn't seem to pick the right one.

Everyone else I know loves the game however, including me of course! The other four of us rotate in picking the right pair of dice, and of course not on purpose. But I have to say, even if I was the one picking the unlucky dice, I would still have loads and loads of fun. It is almost impossible to NOT have fun in Parcheesi, as long as you're a good sport. My half-brother is definitly a bad one.

beyond a doubt, the most popular game at my house
July 02, 2001

This game may be as old as life itself, but that is only due to its basic excellence as a game. Many have attempted to copy or add variations to the rules, but the basic game still survives.

As an avid game player, I am amazed that this game remains my family's favorite. We play a variey of game genres, from spy and detective games, to trick taking card games, to money making mogul type games, to railroad games, and this is far and beyond the favorite.

I will not elaborate on the rules or mechanics, because everyone who reads this is probably familiar with the game. Why the review then? Very simply, if you haven't played this recently, have another look. It lacks the glitzy, thematic background developement and visual appeal of the majority of games marketed today, yet it continues to be popular on its own merits. Don't ever forget this one!
