  • What color cat is bad luck if it crosses your path?
  • Who is the father of Hercules?
  • What must a weapon be made of to kill a werewolf?
  • What must you do to a vampire after you drive a stake through its heart?
  • Where does a Jedi Knight get his mystical power from?

The answers to these and thousands of other questions on Sci-Fi and the Supernatural lie waiting to be discovered here in the world of Dark Lore!

You and your friends choose from six classic monster tokens and battle your way up the haunted path to be the first to reach the Red Reaper's Castle. A roll of the die determines which of the six categories you will receive to test your knowledge of the Macabre. While moving up the pathway, beware of pitfalls and unpredictable Full Moon cards which can empower you to shoot your opponents with silver bullets, or put them into another dimension!

If you love Sci-Fi, the Supernatural, and heart pounding adventure, then Dark Lore is the game for you! Play if you Dare!

OK, but....
December 31, 1999

If your players are all sci-fi/horror/wiccan fans, then the questions AT FIRST seem too easy. Drop the multiple choices--they make those questions obvious.

Game wise--pure luck. It's a cute board with nice cards, but NEVER do you get to make any choices like in [page scan/se=0061/sf=category/fi=stockall.asc/ml=20]Trivial Pursuit, so you may as well just sit around and draw cards and see who gets 10 right first or use them on a Trivial Pursuit board.

BIG PROBLEM - there seem to be multiples of lots of cards - unless I got one mis-sorted. BUT I had 2 cards of IDENTICAL questions and only 1 had a typo - that seems not to be that I got 2 of the same half.

Still, it's pretty fun.
