I bought this from Funagain on a whim one night, and still am unsure for whom this was intended, although it's well designed. For me, it has taken a long while and many attempts to master it from the start, but I keep trying. The key is balance and concentration. The playing disc is hard to follow, the intended paths being of one solid plastic color. There are two sides with varying difficulty levels on both. Enjoyment definitely depends on the length of your attention span, persistance, and free time.
I got this for Christmas two years ago. At first, I wasn't sure if I would like it, but after playing a few times I was hooked! It is a challenge to your dexterity, and the various mazes range from simple to difficult (though not impossible). Until the top disappeared when I let my son play with it, I played with this daily for a few months. Great fun for a little money....
Ok, I know I am in the minority in comparison to the previous comments, but quite frankly I can't see how anyone could score this game high.
The object of the game is to manuver the spinning top through the different mazes. There are if I can recall 4 different levels. The problem is that you can easy jump over the maze walls (they are small) and to go very far in the maze is almost impossible. I wonder if anyone has ever completed all 4 mazes - I think it would be nearly impossible. This game frustrated our entire family and after a few days never saw the light of day again. I believe we through it away when we moved.
You can really get in the groove with Spintrek, because if you don't, you're not going to get anywhere. Launch a spinning top from the middle of this handheld gizmo and guide it up, down, and around this crazy three-D maze till you can get it in the goal hole. There are four mazes on the gray side of the maze disk, but if you find them unworthy of your prodigious talents, turn it over to the purple side for a greater challenge. This game needs no batteries, but luckily, it comes with an extra top.
