A good expansion, and you can't beat the price!
April 02, 2002

Canyon is a good, solid game. It may not be deep or particularly inventive, but it doesn't need to be, either. In other words, it is a perfectly suitable journeyman effort, not a masterpiece.

Grand Canyon adds a nice bit of strategy to the game, elevating it to the point of almost-but-not-quite being a gamer's game. Players now take special ability cards that can aid them during the course of the game turn, each ability being quite different from one another.

If you have Canyon, or plan on getting it, make sure to get Grand Canyon, as well. You won't want to play with it every time, but it will be there on those occasions when you do. If you are like me, that will probably be more often than not. Recommended.
