Paired Up has players racing to guess the 800 pairs listed on the game cards. Two players are matched-up prior to each round and take turns giving and receiving clues in an attempt to name the pairs, which range from the familiar, ("cookies and milk") to the arcane ("flotsam and jetsam"). No mention of the pair is permitted in the verbal description and a roll of the die determines the point score for each round. After 45 seconds, the two players tally their mutual score by multiplying the total number of correct responses by the number on the die. The score for the round is then recorded on each player's score sheet and the player with the highest individual score at the end of the game is the "fair and square" winner!
Love and marriage go together, as the old song says, like a horse and carriage. This game adds nearly 800 pairs (four per card, and some quite difficult) to that list. Your mission is to clue as many pairs of words as you can for your partner to guess while the 45-second timer runs on. Roll a die to determine how much you and your partner will score for each right answer. You may choose either to divide your group into teams, or to use a pairing list. This ensures that every player gets paired up with each other player at least twice in the game--once to give clues, and once to receive them. A little trial and error is part and parcel of giving clues, but if you're bound and determined to win, you'll just have to wait and see how it comes and goes.
