Count to ten with Lilly. Find the two pieces that go together - one has a picture, the other has the corresponding number. The colored borders give you another clue. The pieces for each pair are self-correcting so only the true pairs match. The game is over when all the pairs are put together. Everyone wins!

This game requires imagination and memory, but is easily tailored to the age of each child. For example, the rules call for each child to take the number of cards equal to their age plus one, so my 6-year-old uses 7 cards while my 3-year-old uses 4 cards. The game features Kevin Henkes's charming Lilly characters so if your kids have read 'Julius, the Baby of the World', or any of the other Lilly books, they will recognize the pictures on the cards. I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist, as well, and I've had good success with this game with language-impaired children, too. Really a great game.
