Has entertained my family for three generations.
May 20, 2004

Camelot is a fascinating game that my father and I have played by the hour. It is sort of cross between chess and checkers. Well, that is an oversimplification. It requires the strategy and forethought of chess. But you jump our opponents much like checkers. Games can take 20 minutes. But I have played some that lasted hours. You can attack your opponent in sweeping charges with powerful knights taking a handful of pieces. But watch your back because you might leave yourself open to a counterattack so devastating that you are left crippled and dispersed.

You start the game with four knights and ten men. You meet your opponent in a huge field of battle (over 100 squares). The goal is to put two of your pieces into two squares far on the other side of the battlefield or devastate your opponent so he/she cannot. Sounds easy right? You can try to blast through the line. Make an end run or just sit back and defend. The Strategies are endless. It is a shame that this old game is no longer in print. It has entertained our family for three generations.
